I have been able to study in Europe on behalf of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship! When I was applying for study abroad, I had my doubts as to how I was going to pay for it. Receiving the Gilman scholarship came as a huge relief to me. It allowed me to go to France without worrying about money the whole time. The scholarship was a huge blessing to me and was truly essential in allowing me to study abroad
The Gilman scholarship was created by the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State to help students who are financially limited, to finance their study abroad. They believe in the importance of studying abroad and experiencing another culture in a world that is becoming more globally focused. Each year they give out over 2,300 scholarships ranging from $3000 - $5000.
If you are interested in studying abroad, but don't think that you can afford it - then think again and check out their website:
